Deluxe DVD - Part deux !!

Le DVD Deluxe est tout juste disponible, intitulé "Part deux", c'est pourquoi j'ai anticipé cette sortie en posant quelques questions à Mark. Pour en connaitre davantage sur le contenu de ce DVD ainsi que quelques anecdotes, prenez le temps de lire cette interview.

The newest Deluxe DVD has been just available - called "Part deux"; this is why I thought it was good to ask to Mark some questions. So, to know a bit more about this DVD with few "anecdotes" along the way, take time to read this interview. 

Tout d'abord, quelle est l'histoire derrière ce nom qui sonne français - Part deux ? 

C'est entièrement l'idée de Patrick (Patrick Best - Deluxe filmer), je pense que ce nom vient du film Hotshots part deux (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107144/), qui est un film Hollywoodien avec tout ce qu'il y a de plus ironique. De plus, la moité de la vidéo a été filmée en France pendant le trip que nous avons organisé l'année dernière; donc ce titre allait bien! Bien sur, cette notre seconde vidéo, donc ça colle parfaitement. 

First, what is the story behind this French inspired name ? 

This is all Patrick's idea, I think it came from the movie Hotshots Part Deux ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107144/ ), which is a Hollywood movie at its ironic best. Plus, half of the video was filmed in France from the trip that we did last year, so the title really works. Of course, it's our second video, so it fits perfectly. 

La grande partie du DVD est dédiée à votre trip Français de l'année dernière ? Pourra-t-on trouver d'autres sections également ? Quelques surprises ? 

Yeah, la moitié du DVD a été filmée en France, de superbes spots durant le trip et des moments mémorables. L'autre moitié a été filmée autour du monde: du Blue bench trail avec Mike Saavedra, Pittsburgh - PA avec Mark et Jeremy, Villig avec Frog et bien plus encore... C'est une vidéo entière, avec des sections et pas uniquement le trip en France, c'est vraiment diversifié. 

The most part of this DVD is dedicated of your French trip last year ? Will we find other section too ? Any surprise ? 

Yup, for sure - half of it was filmed in France, some amazing spots on the trip and really good times - and the other half is filmed around the world - from Blue Bench trails with Mike Saavedra, Pittsburgh PA trails with Mark and Jeremy, Villij with Frog, and more... this is a full video, more sections, not just the trip - it's really diverse. 

Combien de temps dure ce DVD? 

La vidéo principale dure 40min; nous avons aussi regroupé beaucoup de sections pour les bonus; avec de nouvelles vidéos des riders qui n'ont pas pu faire le trip en France; ainsi que quelques classiques web vidéos qui sont terribles à regarder sur un vrai écran de télévision. 

How ling is it ? 

The main video is 40 minutes long, full length... and we also collected a load of extra video parts for the Bonus Extras section as well, with some new video parts from riders who couldn't make the trips, some new edits, and some classic web edits which look rad in DVD quality on a proper TV screen 

Est-ce que nous pourrons retrouver le même feeling que dans le premier DVD ? 

Oh oui et bien plus. Comme Mark Potoczny le dis, cette vidéo balaye la première; pourtant "Welcome to Deluxe" était déjà une bonne vidéo; mais cette nouvelle vidéo "Part deux" est encore meilleure. Je suis vraiment fière du team et la vidéo que nous avons réalisé. 

Will everyone find with this second DVD the same feeling as the first one ? 

Oh yeah - and more. Like Potoczny said, this video blows the last one out of the water - and Welcome To Deluxe is a great video, but this new one is so good - even if I say so myself. I'm really proud of the team, and the video that we've made. 

Patrick était-il en charge de tout le processus derrière ce DVD (filmer, concevoir la jaquette...)? 

Bien sur, Patch a produit l'ensemble de ce projet, nous avons quelques eu quelques personnes à filmer en extra qui nous aidaient (Aaron Nardi, Rob Palmer, Aaron Coward). Mais Patrick a mené ce projet et il a été vraiment bon; il a filmé la majorité de la vidéo, monté l'ensemble et suivi la production; conçu la jaquette... Il a vraiment fais un bon boulot!

Was Patrick in charge of the whole process of this DVD (from film to design and so on) ?

For sure - Patch produced the whole thing, though we have some extra filmers who helped us out, namely Aaron Nardi, Rob Palmer, and Aaron Coward. But Patrick really nailed this one - and it's bloody good: he filmed the majority of the video of course, edited everything together, nailed the production of it, designed the graphics and the covers, really did a rad job for sure. 

Quelque chose de spécial à ajouter ?

Je suis juste scotché par le résultat, nous avons un team mondial et cela se ressent. Nous avons découvert des spots terribles qui n'ont jamais été vus en vidéo jusqu'à présent, assemblé des parts uniques, nous avons vécu un superbe trip en France et filmé à fond! Je suis sur que si vous n'avez même jamais eu de terre sur vos pneus, vous allez adorer cette vidéo, de nombreuses lignes, du flow et du bon temps!

Anything special ?

I'm just really stoked on how it's come out - we have a worldwide team now, and this really shows it. We hit some awesome spots that haven't been seen on video before, put together some unique parts, had a great trip, hit some amazing trails, and filmed the lot. I'm pretty sure if you've ever had dirt on your tyres, you'll love this video - so many lines, flow, good time.
