Tan colour of the Deluxe frames !!

Deluxe BMX est bien connue pour produire des cadres à la géométrie orientée trail. Mais au-delà des longueurs et angles choisis pour le trail, ils ont proposés leur cadre Tech 2 avec une couleur intitulée "tan"! En fait, une histoire se cache derrière cette couleur tout en ayant un passé plus riche que nous le pensions, il ne s'agissait pas d'un choix de teinte parmi tant d'autres.

J'ai donc interrogé Mark Noble, responsable de la marque Deluxe, pour m'en dire davantage sur ce choix de couleur "tan". Tout d'abord, cette couleur était une idée de Mark Mulville lorsqu'il roulait pour la marque il y a quelques années, il a proposé cette couleur pour rendre hommage au fameux cadre Standard trail boss. Ce cadre a été créé en 1997 avec Robbie Morales et Rick Moliterno, tous les deux ont participé au développement de ce cadre destiné au trail, mélange du STA et du Motocross, c'est-à-dire plus léger qu'un cadre street de l'époque tout en étant réellement adapté au trail.

Voilà donc une sympathique histoire derrière une couleur qui paraît banale et qui cache un lien étroit pour la pratique du trail, entre la marque Standard et son cadre trail boss, et la marque contemporaine Deluxe qui leur rend hommage et qui poursuit cet héritage en développant des cadres toujours orientés pour le trail !

Deluxe BMX brand is well known for making good frames with a proper geometry for trail riding. Further than length and angles, they have produced their Tech 2 frame with an awesome colour, which the Tan one ! In fact, there is a piece of history behind this colour, it wasn't just a choice amongst others.

So I asked Mark Noble, owner of Deluxe BMX to tell me a bit more about this famous tan colour. First of all, it was an idea of Mark Mulville when he was riding for Deluxe a couple of years ago; he came with the idea to pay homage to the old Standard trail boss, which came with this colour back in the day.

This frame was developped in 1997, both Robbie Morales and Rick Moliterno designed a geometry aimed at trail riding. It was a mix between a STA frame and a Motocross one; a bit lighter than other frames back in the day, mainly it was trail riding oriented !

It's such an interesting history behind a simple colour, which hides a specific link between two different brands who really support trail riding, firstly Standard who created this specific frame and currently Deluxe who pays homage to them in the same way as making specific frame for trail riding !
